Why sports? What’s the advantage?

One of the advantages of a sports camp is that it shows Christian community in action. Many campers catch their first glimpse of what a life with Jesus is like when they observe their camp leaders. In other words, following Jesus is more “caught than taught.” When campers and their families see the love you have for each other and them, they take your message seriously. This means that local churches are essential to sports ministry, as the long-term effectiveness of a camp comes from the web of relationships within the church, not just the program content.
